Monument in Vietnam

Vietnam is a Communist state. So there are few monuments in Hanoi that represent struggling of the people. This Martyrs' Monument is dedicated to all the soldiers who gave their lives fighting for independence. It's located at the northeast corner of Hoan Kiem Lake.

When I came across this monument by Hoan Kiem Lake, I didn't know what it was. I took some shots of it, intending to find out later. Only after I have finished writing about almost all the sights I visited in Hanoi did I stumble on your webpage telling me that this monument is called the Martyr's Monument. Now I can write about it! You can view the other sights I've covered here: http://www.asiaexplorers.com/vietnam/hanoi/sights.htm
